Princess Castle

Aliyah got a new princess castle from Memere. I put it together and she was so excited. She got her princess blanket and princess pillow and she laid in there with the kitties and watched movies. She loved it so much she wanted to sleep in there. Of course I let her and she was just so happy. While I was putting it together she kept telling me to blow it up...i tried to explain to her that you don't blow it up, but she was persistant. She's too cute!!!!!! :) As you can see in the first picture, she is wearing her new princess underwear...we are going to try and become potty trained this week, since we are on vacation. the first day we had just a few accidents (4!), but 2 successes, so we were excited. :)

Christmas

We had a very nice Christmas--it was fun watching Aliyah open her gifts this year, because she was so excited about all of them. She would open something and her face was in shock and she would say, "WOW! It's so beautiful" no matter what the gift was...we had fun with her ....putting together her toys was difficult. Shawn and I spent about an hour and a half putting her desk together on Christmas eve...if only Santa could bring presents put together already!!! :) Shawn had a good Christmas too...I bought him an MP3 player and he spent the whole next day downloading music....we are both on vacation this week, it's so nice!!

Memere, Malcolm, Aliyah

my mom, malcolm and aliyah at the tree lighting ceremony in augusta. we had fun....malcolm actually sat on santa's lap. I asked aliyah if she wanted to and she looked at me with fear in her eyes and said, NO THANK YOU MOM! i had to laugh, but felt bad that she was so scared.

2 new kitties :)

these are the 2 new kitties, max and ruby....aliyah loves these cats and treats them like her little babies :)

Aliyah at School

this is aliyah at school. she's funny when she's there because it takes so much to get her to smile and at home you can't stop her. she has a wicked good time at school though, always talks about her friends and it's nice that she gets to go to school right next door to my classroom. everyday when she comes in, she says hi to me and my students. they all like her :)

excerise

oh man.....i finally joined a gym yesterday...only 10$ a month through my job. planet fitness....at least i got a new t-shirt! it actually is nice, i can bring my headphones and watch a whole show without interruption and get some exercise while i'm at it...but as they say the second day is always the worst and they are right, my legs hurt!!! ;)

so my two new kitties that i got the day after thanksgiving...they are aweful cute, but man are their nails sharp...and of course aliyah is obsessed with holding them, thinking that they are babies, and they scratch her and she insists on having medicine (which to her means lotion). it always seems to make her feel better, so i put it on. she has an immense amount of love for pets, but she isn't always sure how to show it appropriately. she's cute though!

aliyah is so excited for christmas. she has learned a ton of christmsas songs, it's so funny. she is the best at jingle bells. it's hysterical. she and i have been watching christmas shows on t.v. she's cute, saying, "oh there he is, santa claus". i am not sure if she knows what santa does, but she likes him anyway. i'm excited to see her christmas morning......

life as we know it

I'm new to the blogging world, but Katie sent me to her site and I thought it was really cool and am going to try it. I see it as a great way to keep in touch with old friends!

Life is crazy!! A stressful job full of wonderful kids with not always wonderful homelives mixed with an independent 2 year old girl, two new cats, an anxious dog and a lovely fiancee with big hopes and dreams! I wouldn't change a thing. We just bought a house in the lovely town of Manchester and being responsible for fixing everything is a lot of pressure! but, much nicer than paying for someone else's mortgage. the first real snow fell today and i was a mad woman driving this morning. it took me twice as long to get everywhere and i was going 30 mph on the interstate. people were probably irratated! but as i look out the window from my office, it looks beautiful and makes me want to go christmas shopping. sometimes i do love maine :)
